For a considerable number of years, now, Denmark and, overall, the Nordic part of Europe, has been injecting the world of Jazz music with hugely talented artists, most of them now widely known and appreciated in many parts of the world too.

Given the constant flourishing of a so much vibrant scene, the talented young Lithuanian singer/songwriter Dalia Valančiūtė did not have to think twice, back a few years ago, to consider moving from her country of origin to Denmark, a place that would potentially open to her so many more possibilities and where the Lithuanian singer could fulfil her dreams and express herself at the very best.

Dalia Valančiūtė's talent as a singer and as a songwriter was immediately spotted, as the young artist arrived in Denmark, so much so that in 2023, the Lithuanian artist released her debut album called Open The Door, which met the general consensuses of the music press, spotting immediately in the Lithuanian artist, together with a natural singing talent, also an instinctive and sometimes playful approach to songwriting, all aspects that reflected loyally the goals set by Valančiūtė for her debut album.

Fast forward the scene to 2026, where the singer/songwriter, now with a strong, tried-and-true quartet as her own working collective, has built even more confidence as a complete performer, expanding her own musical vocabulary at the same time to a new and exciting level.

This artistic growth happening throughout the last few years is very well displayed into Valančiūtė's new album called One Or Two Things, a collection of ten songs that capture an artist in full artistic flow, where Dalia Valančiūtė's talent and bubbly personality shine brilliantly in the whole of the record.

Supported brilliantly by her musicians, respectively Laurits Høgel on piano, Mariusz Praśniewski on bass and Jesper Lørup on drums, with the addition of extra Special Guests Christian Holm-Svendsen on saxophone and flute and Malthe Kaptain on trumpet, Dalia Valančiūtė displays a breathtaking and eclectic vocal range on One Or Two Things, something that allow her storytelling style of songwriting to be delivered effortlessly flawlessly, never sounding contrived or forced at any point of the album.

One Or Two Things reveals so much, about the Lithuanian artist: her deep love for Jazz, a natural predisposition to sing Bossanova (ever so convincingly both in English and in Lithuanian!) and Swing tunes beautifully and the innate capacity of being convincing when she sings either romantic songs or more playful ones, where, on the latter, her swagger as an interpreter rises straight to the top, making of Dalia Valančiūtė an exciting and vibrant artist that, in years to come, will acquire surely even more popularity and international fame and appreciation on a global scale.

Watch out for this talented young artist; she is there to conquer your attention and appreciation as an artist and as a performer. Starting from this wonderful album.
