Black Country Communion, "building the foundation of rock!"

Photos and Review by Bluebird.

ghjb4webGlenn Hughes, Joe Bonamassa, Derek Sherinian and Jason Bonham. Elegant and explosive, wild and restrained, professional and engaging, they presented a show to a sold out crowd in New Hampshire on Friday night that exceeded the expectations of some very experienced rock fans of all ages.

They set out to tour the US coast to coast, just days after the release of their second album, BCC 2. Their first album was debuted September, 2010. Each of these musicians with full careers of their own, has pulled together their collective talents and experience to create a new sound that has key elements of classic blues guitar, poignant bass lines, progressive/fusion keyboarding, and legendary drum arrangements.  Powerful vocals from Hughes and Bonamassa prevail and are mixed with harmony pieces from the band as well. Experienced listeners can't help but hear the flavors, echos, feel of their favorite bands from which these musicians come, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Trapeze, Dream Theatre, and more, are of influence, yet all the while a modern sound is in your face.

Whitey's Rock Review:

Well have I been forever changed by my latest musical experience. On Friday night I had the awesome treat of going to see Phish at Bethel Woods. I don't know much about their music except for the stuff I had heard on Sirius Satellite Radio. Jam band is what Ive heard them referred to. Very much along the lines of the Dead.

Well Ive learned over the many years of seeing live music that if I have the chance to see a band live GRAB IT!!!!!!! The alternative being sitting in front of the tv channel surfing.

Front Row Dave: From The Fans

January 8, 2011 Gregg Allman and Friends:

It was a fantastic show by Gregg and his new band at UPAC, Kingston, NY.

Zebra at BB KINGS rocked last night! The 3 piece band of Randy Jackson on guitar and vocal, Felix Hanemann on bass, keyboards, and vocals, and Guy Gelso on drums and vocals delivered a fantastic show. The first time i ever saw Zebra was around 83. Ive seen them a couple of times over the last 25 yrs and they never fail to rock out a great show.

Whitey's Metal Rock Review:

One of the 80s true guitar shredders was out and ripping it up at the Chance in Poughkeepsie on Feb. 4th. George Lynch from the band Dokken was out with his band the Lynch Mob. George left the band Dokken in the late 80s  because of tension with Dokken lead singer Don Dokken. Nothing new in the music world. He formed the band the Lynch Mob shortly after. George was always known for his fast and ripping guitar playing. I have always been drawn to players who take the guitar to the next level. To push it further to find a new note or style. Eddie Van Halen is such a player. In Dokken Lynch's guitar playing was just that.

Front Row Dave From the Fans:

Front Row Dave hit Madison Square Garden on March 5, 2011 to see Bon Jovi.

Here are his interviews of the fans at the show.

houseofblues boston_150Robert Plant and Band of Joy at the House of Blues, Boston - January 25, 2011
with The North Mississippi Allstars

The House of Blues was originally in Cambridge, MA, when it was started in 1992 by Isaac Tigrett and Dan Aykroyd. It closed and reopened again in Boston on Lansdowne Street across from Fenway Park. The House of Blues currently has 12 live music concert halls throughout the United States.

Tickets are general admission or reserved seats. Here's a fan tip. For general admission, you should know their system to get the best spot. The House of Blues has a policy that if you eat at the restaurant, or buy something at the gift shop, you get a receipt to cut the line without waiting when the doors open. Our advice is get there early, and get your jump the line receipt.  We got some funky "Blues Brothers" t-shirts, securing our place in line. Where'd we end up ? Front row ... thanks, Dave!
